Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

This page explains what information SideKita collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and what you can do about it. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed — kung may hindi malinaw, email us.

01Who we are

SideKita is a Philippine platform that connects customers who need small physical tasks done — store checks, price checks, mystery shopping, house checks, video tours, and similar errands — with independent taskers who complete them for a fee. SideKita is the "personal information controller" for the data described here, in the language of the Data Privacy Act.

You can reach us about anything in this policy at kenneth@sidekita.com.

02What we collect

We only collect what the platform actually needs to work. Here is the full list.

If you are a tasker

If you are a customer

Everyone

03How we use it

We use your information for these purposes and nothing else:

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04Who can see your data

Customers see

A customer who posts a task sees everything submitted for that task: the photos and videos, the checklist answers, the notes, and the GPS coordinates and timestamps attached to each photo. They also see the tasker's first name and rating. They do not see the tasker's phone number, GCash number, email, or home location.

Taskers see

Taskers see the task title, instructions, location, payout, and deadline. Taskers do not see the customer's contact details — no email, no phone number. If a task needs coordination, it happens through the platform.

SideKita staff see

Our staff can access account records, task evidence, payment records, and messages when needed for customer support, dispute resolution, fraud investigation, or to comply with a lawful order. Access is limited to people who need it for that purpose.

Everyone else

Nobody. Your data is not public, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers, or other companies except the service providers listed in section 06.

05Where your data is stored

SideKita's database, file storage, and login system run on Supabase, and our Supabase project is hosted in Tokyo, Japan. This means your personal information — including your task photos and GPS records — is stored on servers outside the Philippines.

Cross-border transfer notice. Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, this counts as a transfer of personal data outside the country. By using SideKita you consent to this transfer. Supabase protects the data with encryption in transit and at rest and is contractually bound to use it only to provide the service to us. We remain responsible for your data wherever it is stored.

Task photos and videos are kept in a private storage bucket. They are never publicly accessible — the only way to view them is through a time-limited, signed link generated for the customer who posted that task or for SideKita staff.

06Services we rely on

These companies process some of your data on our behalf, only as needed to run SideKita:

We may also disclose data when required by Philippine law, a court order, or a lawful request from a government agency.

07How long we keep it

08Your rights

Under Republic Act No. 10173, the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email kenneth@sidekita.com from the address on your account. We will respond within 15 working days. There is no charge.

09Age requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use SideKita as a tasker or a customer. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.

10Changes and contact

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. For changes that matter — new data we collect, new ways we use it, or new companies we share it with — we will also email you before they take effect.
